Top 20 schools for 2008

This is your Top 20 schools for 2008.

Rugby365’s ratings.

Blink an eye and the season is over. In fact life’s season is a short one. But here we are, after much head-banging, with our final Top 20 for 2008.

To draw up this ranking we started from scratch.

We tried to separate Grey College and Paarl Gim but it would not be fair to put either above the other of those two unbeaten teams who, it seems, are never des tinned to play each other.

We also give below all the other teams who were from time to time on the Top 20 – obviously all great rugby schools.

4. Glenwood
5. Outeniqua
6. Michaelhouse
7. Waterkloof

  1. Just some info:

Bethlehem Voortrekker beat Kroonstad by a good margin bu tthen lost to Virginia Sports Academy by 50 points.

The Academy also won the schools 7’s this year. Apart from Gimmies and Grey I dont see the other top 7 teams beating this team.

  2. Perhaps I should alo do an article on Louis Botha in Bloemfontein which has to be the biggest sporting success story of the ew South Africa.

They were, apart from the Grey cherries, the biggest threat to Grey in Bloem. Great rugby team and very good athletics team. 97% black school.

  3. For example I see Louis Botha beat Kroonstad Hoerskool 24-0!

Thats a serious player in Griffons school rugby and this darkie school from Bloem gives them a smack!

I think the Cheetahs contacted a centre from this year and flanker from las year from this school. Th flanker played in the final of Craven Week against WP and scored a great try.

Very good for transformation when hese things happen. But all the teachers are white and very strict on discipline. Do you okes think Khompela would recognise the eforts of these teachers in transformation?

    Did not think so.

Should I not rather do another article on a wp school seeing as that region is the blood and soul of SA rugby and no-one really cares whats going on in the Freestate?

Or perhaps an interview with Rassie titled: watch us next year!

Ag kak man in Bloem they say Gimmies dont want to play them? Dont worry in 3 years most of Gimmies will be playing for the Bulls and most of Grey for the Sharks, then we can see how they go!
