The Boland Cavaliers’ new Director of Rugby, Chester Williams, has one more chance to experiment with his players before they face two crucial promotion/relegation matches against the Pumas.
For Saturday’s Currie Cup match against the Cheetahs in Wellington he will take a good look at centre, where Cornal Hendricks and PJ Vermeulen team up for the first time.
Vermeulen comes back into the side at the expense of Dewey Swartbooi, who moves to the bench.
Williams also fields a new halfback combination, Dandré Gerber, son
of former Springbok great Danie Gerber, takes over the No.10 jersey, while Charlie Kings gets another run behind the scrum.
The pair replace Elgar Watts and Marnus Hugo who did duty against Western Province at Newlands last weekend.
Up front David Hendricks is back at No.6, with Angelo Brinkhuys moving to the bench.
Williams is also fortunate to have lock George Earl back amongst his reserves. He missed the Western Province encounter because of injury.
