Pedrie Wannenburg will have to step out of controversy to play a key role for the Bulls in the Super14 following the news that Dewald Potgieter will miss at least the first two weeks of the tournament with a knee injury.

Potgieter had been earmarked to wear the Bulls’ No 7 jersey against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on February 12, but that may now be Wannenburg’s job. He recently confessed to drug and alcohol abuse.
Wannenburg, a veteran of 98 Super rugby games, has shed a few kilograms and is planning to restore his reputation on the field.
Potgieter was injured during a training session on Tuesday and he received confirmation on Thursday that he will miss the first few weeks of the Super14.
He has a grade two medial ligament tear and has been ruled out for between four and six weeks.
“It is disappointing because I would have liked to continue where I left off this year,” said Potgieter while adjusting to crutches.
His last match was his Test debut against Ireland in Dublin and Potgieter could not wait to play again to further boost his reputation.
“It could have been worse or later in the season, so I’m not complaining. Injuries come and go, and you have to accept it will be part of the season. Now I’m just going to focus on getting myself right as soon as possible,” the blond flank said.
Bulls coach Frans Ludeke had decided that Potgieter would be used mainly as an openside flank this year, but he won’t have any problems with Wannenburg there.
He was adamant that Wannenburg was not out of favour and did not intend going into the Super14 without him.
“Pedrie is a valuable member of our squad. His experience can’t be bought, and even less his knowledge of the Bulls’ goals,” said Ludeke.
“Depth in this series is definitely crucial, especially when you start picking up injuries.”
The Bulls are certainly better off in terms of depth this year than last with regards certain positions.
He is delighted by the return of hooker Gary Botha and the arrival of prop Bees Roux. This will boost the Bulls’ scrumming, something Ludeke realises will be a talking point again this year.
“We saw during the Boks’ November tour that the focus cannot be shifted away from the scrums. We will be out to establish it as a core component of the Bulls’ game again.”

Yep, we seem to be able to forgive and forget. Not a bad idea giving a guy a second chance in life though.

At least P3 said he did do it…
Zuma just gave off his beatific smile threatenmed to fetch his machine gun and refused to comment…
Ja onl problem is we keep forgetting and forgiving the wrong things
Forgivable = Robert MacBride blows up innocent people at Magoos Bar in the name of “freedom”*
Unforgivable = Eugene De Kock shoots anti apartheid activists
Forgivable = Jacob Zuma takes R30 mill for letting French sell us kak we don’t need
Unforgivable = a rugby player sniffs coke
Forgivable = an arms dealer gives Zuma R30 mill and gets released for being deathly ill when he is not
Unforgivable = steeking a tart on video when you’re married
Oh what a brilliantly balanced place we live in…
It smacks of Stalin’s Big Lie Theory….
The bigger the lie the more likely people are to believe it
* did anyone else see how comedia Ronnie Mamoepa defined freedom — he says it means that in the case of people like Julius Malema 1994 means that black people can be free and they can show they are dom too so they are free and dom… apparently it’s a multicultural thing being free and dom…
It means you no longer have to think before you bleat.

I recall that Mad Magazine once did a piece where they also dealt with forgivable and unforgivable sins and it was from a conservative point of view
One was
1. Adultery (ala Jim Bakker) was forgivable
2. Teenage necking (Unforgivable sin)
They also said it was weird and oxymoronic how the people most opposed to the death penalty were also the people most in favour of abortion

lol david. Another thing. Steeking tart on tape, unforgivable. Entrapment and bribery by same tart, forgivable and justifies a huge cash bonus, as well as sudden fame.

More recent
Forgivable sin: calling white girl a “white racist b–ch” because she refused to reciprocate on suggested bribe of blow job in exchange for no speeding fine to black speedcop.
Unforgivable sin: Old tannie gets bumped over and calls black man a “stupid ka***er” in a Cape shopping centre (gets arrested by shopping centre security and taken to SAPS and spot fined R150 for crimen injuria – that or jail)
