S14 heading for dual ref system

SUPER rugby could follow in the footsteps of the NRL and introduce a dual-referee system as soon as next year. NRL television audiences, crowd figures and general interest boomed under the two-referee system which allowed for a free-flowing, attacking style of football.

Bulls down gutsy Lions

With both sides taking the ball wide from the outset, the Bulls’ Blue team – in effect their A-side – beat a plucky Lions Red team 42-12 on Saturday, scoring five tries to two in a warm-up match ahead of the Super 14 competition.
