Test veterans Jean de Villiers and CJ van der Linde will join the Stormers Super 15 campaign next year.
Stephen Nell reported in Die Burger that the ex-WP and Stormer captain, De Villiers, may run out in the Currie Cup this year for Western Province already whilst CJ will join the Cape franchise after a short stint with the Cheetahs in this year’s Currie Cup.
Jean was always expected to come back to the Cape even though other franchises were rumored to be after his services, but it is CJ van der Linde who could be the Cape’s biggest coup.
CJ played most of his tests for the Boks at tighthead but will pack down on the loosehead side for the Boks this weekend.
His versatility and experience will be vital for the Stormers’ Super rugby aspiration as a lack of depth and experience has always been an issue in the front row department.
