Also dropped after the Boks’ 34-31 win over Wales was prop CJ van der Linde and centre Meyer Bosman.

Those returning to the squad include Jean de Villiers, Wynand Olivier, Butch James, Morne Steyn, Bryan Habana, Pierre Spies, Schalk Burger, Bakkies Botha, Gurthro Steenkamp and Flip van der Merwe.

Botha, who is still under suspension, won’t be available for the France Test.

Strong team, should be good enough to put a couple past the frogs

Hope Flip gets a run! Matfield and PK need to rest! They probably will against Italy though.

    Interesting at centre 12/13:
JdV, Fourie, Juan, Olivier… all quality!
Bjorn would be my starting winger – great future for this guy!

    Well, I suppose Duiwel
    was at the airport to
    see Butch James off.

5 locks (albeit one banned), 5 loosies… yet only 1 hooker and only 3 props… not too mention 2 half-backs?

I noticed what I call lack
    of commitment from Tina -
    twice there were loose balls
and he did not cover them by
    diving on, standing up and
    securing them.

Maybe he has a bit of an
    attitude problem.

    Snor wants to play “southern”
    and “northern” sides against
    the Pastas.
Suppose the big guns will all
    be rotated and rested.

    ======
    Correction: One overweight
and slow out of form hooker.
    And no.2 should be playing
    Vodacom.

You say he is overweight… when last did you see him in person?… and out of form… well I’d say dismantling the Stormer’s front-row and making Liebenberg his bitch in the loose is hardly ‘out of form’…

I will state Boertjie as I have a few times of late… I don’t think Smit is more than a 50-60min hooker with so much world-class back-up on the bench in Bismark, Tian, Gary, Strauss…

John Smit can cover prop, so you have cover.

Looking at the team I would guess that PDV is aiming stretch the frogs physically and expansively. Expect a fast flowing game with plenty of multi phase play.

    I’ve never seen Meerkat in
    person either.
Anyway I’m just up to some
    :soek:
    but everybody seems dead
    serious.

So he has to cover prop and hooker for the 80mins…

The more things change the more they stay the same…

    Hehe who is serious?

    Nag apies…

I suppose he has to cover it for any length of time that PDV deems he needs to cover it.

I can’t help but think FS has been left out thanks to the shenanigans leading up to the test against Wales.
