Springbok Earl Rose looks set to continue in the rugby wilderness after the Free State Cheetahs have denied they are looking for him to join them.
SuperSport
This comes after Golden Lions CEO Manie Reyneke confirmed to SuperSport.com earlier in the week that he had been approached by the Cheetahs for Rose and had expressed an interest in another Springbok – Ashley Johnson as a possible player swop.
Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske told SuperSport.com he was not in the market for Rose’s services – and would not be looking to lure the fullback to Bloemfontein at all.
“I heard the story as well and don’t know where it comes from. We have not spoken to Earl and are not trying to contract him to us.”
Drotske said he would also not be looking to release Johnson to the Lions, even if they were interested.
Either way while Drotske has denied it, it is likely the approach came from another part of the Cheetahs setup but after the coach’s comments it is unlikely that Rose will end up in Bloemfontein to join last season’s Currie Cup finalists at all.
Drotske has, however, signed up former Lion Shandre Frolick, and the former SA under-21 fullback will turn out for the Cheetahs in a friendly game against the Griffons in Welkom on Friday night.
Still, with Rose still out of favour at the Lions, his future remains uncertain and when and where he will play again is just as big a mystery.

And he’s no Springbok.

did not even get blazers.

Frolick is the son of that uber doos. He should not be allowed near a Freestate team.

Don’t judge a person on his family. He can’t help being the son. Same was done to Mujati – just unfair!

Well JT I reckon had it not been for his daddy this kid would not be anywhere near a contract. Selfsame contract he received because he represented SA at age group level, no doubt reserved by pappa.
I would love to be proved wrong on this one.

Oh ja, like Holocaust survivors who attacked the children of Joseph Mengele….
Children often have to live with the consequences of what their folks have dione.
The kids of Mugabe’s ministers were all skopped unceremoniously out of the oprvate schools they attanded in England when UN personal sanctions were implemented…
Tough noogies.
Mujati is a piece of excrement and Frolick should suffer for his father’s stupidity…

So let me not hear you bitch about anything about South Africa, affirmative action, quotas in sport or any of the sorts because you are then simply only suffering the consequences of your father’s, and his father’s actions before him.

Well isn’t that the same dof logic David is using?
No matter who you are, what your convictions, you will be judged (in his mind rightly) by the actions of your fathers…

Depends on who the father’s were… but yes in many cases this is true… it is human nature…
In South Africa it does not matter who a white youngster’s father is/was/… he is fighting the system from day one… he WILL be discriminated against at many stages of his life whether that be in school to uni to the job front solely based on his skin colour… despite what your constitution states…
Over this conversation…

Ek’s verbaas die buitelanders staan nie tou vir Pearl se handtekening nie.

As for Rose… he might actually go one better and make the Quaynbean ’2nds’ in Canberra club rugby…

I disagree with both, my statement merely reflects how dof I think Dawie’s views are but if we go down that road then any white South African that supported, or benefited from Apartheid could easily be painted with the same brush – not even that, just because they are white they will just by association which is the case…
Like you, done with this conversation.

I am not reading between the lines again hey!
Demmit.
I always get this wrong!

If you judge a guy like Frolic and Mujati on their farthers actions then you can’t have a problem with AA due to the whites farthers & grand farthers having the privilages of the apartheit era…
Luke Watson is another case: he seems come be a doos because of his actions and not that of his dads, Who also seems to be a doos but that is coinsidence

Never fear, the nay sayers disappear as soon as the discussion requires that they reply with facts backing up their points.
It’s happened a few times already this week to me. Although I expect a snarky reply to this comment contradicting it, then I would point it out where it happened and they would disappear again.
Luckily I have a busy day today and therefore will not have to go through the procedure again
And for David, here is for at most the 2nd time this week
