Australia coach Robbie Deans dropped wingers Drew Mitchell and Lachie Turner on Thursday as he named his squad for the Tri-Nations that starts this weekend.
Sport24
Deans axed five players in total from his squad that played tests against Fiji, England and Ireland in June, with props Pek Cowan and Laurie Weeks and hooker Huia Edmonds also all dropped.
He named four uncapped players — centre Anthony Faingaa, loose forwards Scott Higginbotham and Ben McCalman and lock Rob Simmons — among the 28-man squad, which he will expand to 30 later.
“We still have some decisions to make,” said Deans. “(We) would like to see a little bit more club rugby before settling on the final two positions.
“Given the difficulties that we have experienced this year, in terms of our injury circumstance, we feel that it is prudent to allow ourselves a little bit more time.”
The omission of Turner, who was named in Australia’s sevens training squad to prepare for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October, and Mitchell means Adam Ashley-Cooper is likely to cover wing rather than return to his preferred fullback spot.
Peter Hynes and Digby Ioane are the only specialist wingers selected, though the injured Ioane is struggling to be fit for the Wallabies’ Tri-Nations opener against South Africa on July 24 in Brisbane.
Australia:
Adam Ashley-Cooper, Berrick Barnes, Kurtley Beale, Richard Brown, Luke Burgess, Mark Chisholm, Quade Cooper, Ben Daley, Rocky Elsom (captain), Anthony Faingaa, Saia Faingaa, Will Genia, Matt Giteau, Scott Higginbotham, Matt Hodgson, Rob Horne, Peter Hynes, Digby Ioane, Ben McCalman, Salesi Ma’afu, Stephen Moore, Dean Mumm, James O’Connor, David Pocock, Benn Robinson, Nathan Sharpe, Rob Simmons, James Slipper

Turner and Mitchell played well against the touring Euro teams.
Hell Mitchell looked like the only Aussie worth morre than a warm bucket of spit as a backline player.

Mitchell was simply sublime this past weekend in the club champs…
Deans has gone ‘doolally’…
He’s out of his depth without the Canterbury structures behind him!
As Fitzpatrick says (about the Boks and their coach)…
“Any fool can drive a Lamborghini!”

You just need a license
And judging from people on the road those seem to be given away in lucky packets these days
July 9th, 2010 at 9:36 am
Bryce you blasphemed
Morne will now slur drunkenly at you
JT will flash his
at you
Ollie will mete out the worst punishment… he’ll
and
You’re screwed!
Repent your sinfulness
Repent now or face the terrible wrath of the praise singing lot.

You mean the same Fitzpatrick who commented as early as Monday this week on how the Boks scare him and how for the first time players of colour like De Jongh and Aplon deserve their place on merit and how the Boks have added a skill set second to none on top of their tradition conservative game?
That Fitzpatrick?
Surely not…
As far as Deans go, I agree, he is losing the plot but then I said he would about a month ago.

Goodness, have you guys not figured it out yet …
Its the “white liberal illumanti” who imposes their will, by bribe or other, onto other white individuals and organisations to create praise for PdV
Freemasons are a Dan Brown relic
White liberals are the now

Farjan.

Have you seen the Rolls Royce remark from Fitzi? I haven’t and couldn’t find it either
Ah well, not important. 3 – 0 to the Boks last year is a good enough reply.
I ‘m outta here for a week.
Play nicely all.
Dawie, have a banana it’s the last for a week.

Think may have figured it out. We can’t find anything because we looking for the wrong thing
Most likely Fitzy would have said that the Bok team is like a Kit Car (the black car in the Knight Rider 80′s series). The car drives itself!
Following Gump belief, PdV simply sits in the drivers seat, playing with the buttons & switches and makes the occasional remark out the window whilst the car drives itself: “Kyk djulle die kar ry homself, dis kwaai ek se!”
July 10th, 2010 at 12:07 am
Anywayz, good night to all.
Victory to PdV and his Boks tomorrow
July 10th, 2010 at 12:40 am
If not victory at least a damn good fight
