Reports from French Newspapers have suggested that Bakkies Botha signed a 3-year deal with French Club Toulon.
The Midi Olympique newspaper reported that the Bulls and Springbok lock will join the French club on a 3-year deal following the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand later this year.
Botha who has also been rumoured to be in talks with the Lions and their multi-millionaire investor, Robert Gumede, has seemingly decided on the French club for an amount said to be close to 700 000 Euro’s per year for the 3 years.
Midi Olympique suggested that the signing will be made official by Toulon Club president, Boudjellal within the next 12 hours.
Bakkies will join an elite group of international stars at the French club including recently signed Australian star, Matt Giteau, as well as the likes of Joe van Niekerk (captain), Carl Hayman and George Smith.

Dammit
The Lions should not be trying for him
Rather they should be trying for Juandre Kruger or Flip VD Merwe
Latter even better as a hardman foil for Franco VD Merwe
Kind of the old Kevin De Klerk
Or Kobus Wiese / Hannes Strydom combination

Club would be crazy to fork out big money for a guy that will be sidelined for most of the season due.

The deal is that the owner of Toulon will anounce it personally and make it officiol and until then – no parties involved will make any statements.
Bakkies has however confirmed it to his team mates……….
