Vodacom Bulls coach Frans Ludeke made three changes to his side to face the Hurricanes in Napier on Saturday.

Zane Kirchner, Francois Hougaard and Gary Botha replace Jaco van der Westhuyzen, Gerhard van den Heever and Chiliboy Ralepelle respectively from the side that beat the Lions the past weekend.

Kirchner is fit again following a shoulder injury, Hougaard makes a first run-on appearance and Botha swops places with Ralepelle, who will now move to the bench where he will be joined by Van den Heever and Van der Westhuyzen.

Danie Rossouw misses the matches altogether as he is on maternity leave. He will not travel with the team to New Zealand on Tuesday, but will join the side next week.

The Vodacom Bulls team to play the Hurricanes is:

Zane Kirchner, Bjorn Basson, Jaco Pretorius, Wynand Olivier, Morné Steyn, Fourie du Preez, Pierre Spies, Dewald Potgieter, Deon Stegmann, Victor Matfield (c), Bakkies Botha, Werner Kruger, Gary Botha, Dean Greyling.

Replacements: Chiliboy Ralepelle, Roussouw  de Klerk, Flip van der Merwe, Derick Kuün, Francois Brummer, Gerhard van den Heever, Jaco van der Westhuyzen.

Taking a proper wing(Van den Heever) for a part-time wing actually scrum-half seems close to desperate for me. Why penalize Gerhard because they have useless centre’s that can not get the ball to the wings in open space.

I am sorry feel for Gerhard, when he got the ball he was always dangerous and he is good on defence and high ball….nothing against Hougaard but he is not a wing in my eyes, if you have injuries then put him on wing.

Who is covering for Steyn at 10 – Longdrop?

This team suddenly starts to look vulnerable . . .

Methinks VDH to the bench is more a rotation to manage him and to give Hougaard some game time (even though it’s not at 9)…

Cannot see them winning this either… even with Gary back leading from the front…

This will be a tough trip for the Bulls. Maybe an eye-opener for the selectors, but I doubt it…

Off the topic, any info on the 34 year old ex-Bull that was arrested for allegedly murdering his child’s rapists with an axe? What a terribly sad story!

“Danie Rossouw misses the matches altogether as he is on maternity leave”.
Danie has been a bit soft of late, but to say he is going on “MATERNITY” leave is a bit harsh dont ya think?

    Go STORMERS!!
