Burger back to captain Stormers

Schalk Burger returns to captain the Stormers team for the Sharks this weekend.

As expected Burger together with the impressive Elstadt returns to the Cape side in the only two changes to the starting XV.

Burger’s return coincided with the loss of Pieter Louw who will miss the rest of the Super rugby season due to a knee injury.

The backline remains unchanged with De Kock Steenkamp moving to the bench, where he is joined by the European recruit, Ethienne Reynecke, who will earn his first Stormers cap if he gets onto the park.

Stormers team:

15 Gio Aplon, 14 Danie Poolman, 13 Jaque Fourie, 12 Jean de Villiers, 11 Bryan Habana, 10 Peter Grant, 9 Dewaldt Duvenage, 8 Duane Vermeulen, 7 Francois Louw, 6 Schalk Burger (c), 5 Andries Bekker, 4 Rynhardt Elstadt, 3 Brok Harris, 2 Deon Fourie, 1 Wicus Blaauw.

  1. Last year’s Kiwi loose-forward wrecking trio back together… ouch!

Cannot see the Sharks taking this even with home advantage@

  2. Reply to JT @ 2:35 pm:

    I’m sure they’ll all win too…

Thinking the Cane’s one could be the other way though (big maybe)…

Have some money on The Rebels as my roughie $4.5-1… they have to win away sometime soon…
