And the Bok Oakley winner is…

All good things has to come to an end, but at least this end will be good for one person!

Let’s get straight into it – Congratulations to JT who basically lead from the start in our final Oakley Rat Race Conference and is now the proud new owner of the awesome Springbok Rugby Antix Oakley eyewear!  One could almost call it a justified win since JT also tops the overall Rat Race log – so congrats mate.

Well done mate and well played!  (BTW I read your promise on a thread this weekend… tsk tsk).

Sadly, this concludes our Super Rugby Rat Race competition, but what a ride it was!  I would like to extend our thanks to all who took part in the competition, and of course to Deon who put this whole thing together!

It was such a success that we will run this competition again not only for the Rugby World Cup later this year, but also for the Tri-Nations that kicks off on the 23rd of July!  And if you think the prizes on offer during the Super Rugby competition was awesome, stick around, it is getting bigger and better (much bigger)!

Importantly, we could not have done this without our kind sponsors, so from all of us at RuggaWorld, a massive thank you to NT-IT Solutions who sponsored the External Hard Drive, EvolveAV for the digital camera, and last but not least, Oakley South Africa for the magnificent Antix they sponsored!

So for the last time, here is your log at the conclusion of our competition!

Interesting stats from Supersproit this morning on Superrugby (yes some of us are up between 05h00 and 06h00 to watch…

    Most kicks of the tournament

    1. Quade Cooper
    2. Morne Steyn
    3. Will Genia

    Most booted points

    1. Quade Cooper
    2. Morne Steyn

This lends total credence to the fact that the Reds basically looked at Bokke 2009 and copied the playing style.

    Some other interesting stats

Our loosie who gained the most running meters was Pierre Spies (Boertjie will be scratching at the non existent hair on his ancient age splotched bald pate at that one)

Most meters gained by backs for SA sides was Doppies La Grange and Wynand Olivier

And most lineout takes was Vic Matfield and Andries Bekker

Top three try scorers were Sarel Pretorius, Bjorn Basson and Zack Guldford and the latter two were not even involved after the play off rounds!

    I must be honest

My interpretation of that is simply that I think we don’t have as much to be worried about as SA supporters…

RWC hosts STILL do not have a lineout or a decent 13

And Australia’s top team copied the playing style of the 2009 Boks to win Super 15 2011… and guess who plays THAT style best?

    Interesting.
Spies second on the list for most runs,
    nowhere under metres gained.
    That coincides with my judgment.

Also Saffas are just about nowhere on
Offloads, Line breaks, Pick and go,
    Run metres.

Well done JT. Well done Ruggaworld!

Great competition and looking forward to the next one! Will there be a CC one as well, or just international tourneys?

Because its RWC year, we are only concentrating on the 3N and RWC – we do have a CC SuperBru pool though, check posts above to join!
