The Golden Lions Rugby Union has confirmed that they have secured the signature of Springbok prop, CJ van der Linde and that the player will join the union as early as August this year after Western Province agreed to release him.
Cheetahs fans will also be happy with news that Robert and Sias Ebersohn has extended their contract at the Cheetahs for another couple of years. It has been reported that there was offers on the table from other unions but ultimately the Cheetahs managed to hang on to two of their most promising players.

CJ is just there to add experience for the Lions… for the CC and Super rugby it is a good signing.

These WP idiots!!!!How they can not see that they do not have proper props in the province I can not see. How can they release a player like CJ when the Saders showed how kak there props where in Semi.

thats great ebersohn boeties! they will be drafted into Bok setup anyway but at least start every game in super rugby for the next 2 years.

Agree 100%. CJ is the modern Ollie le Roux. He looks good once or twice in a season but never more. He scores 1 try for every 5 he screws up – not passing, getting the ball stripped from him by scrumhalves etc.
Also his scrumming is highly suspect. Never have I seen a springbok scrum that inspire confidence with CJ in there.
