The Sharks are apparently without a Springbok hooker on their list of contracted players for the 2012 season.
Springbok captain John Smit has already announced that he will join English club side, Saracens, after the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
And according to the Beeld newspaper, the Sharks could also be without the services of Bismarck du Plessis and his brother Jannie.
Their contacts have apparently come to and end at the Sharks and they could play elsewhere after the World Cup.

I wouldn’t believe everything I read in the Beeld.
If the Beeld was always correct then JPP, Kankowski, the Beast and John Smit would have played for the Lions this year.

Cannot see them go to Oz but who knows, maybe they will leave the dad and the farm and head off for a stint.
Cam rather see them play for Lions or Cheetahs

Time for them to earn some real money IMO… not too mention actually experience some life and culture outside of RSA like many other youngsters (albeit earning a mint)…
Would not like to see them leave the Sharks… but the above would be my advice all the same… just like Fransie…

It seems Jannie is rather dedicated to his profession so I cannot see him take 2 years off to just play rugby. Bismarck maybe go it alone?

Re Beeld: This is on Sport24 courtesy of The Witness:
Sharks commercial manager Rudolf Straeuli on Wednesday dismissed gleeful Cape Town reports that the Du Plessis brothers, Bismarck and Jannie, were on the point of leaving Durban.
The brothers are under contract to the Sharks until the end of the year and Straeuli said negotiations to extend their stay in Durban were continuing.

Funniest thing I have ever read that article… perhaps it’s become part of the Bok conditioning program in Rustenberg… everyone (including backs) have to carry Jannie to bed after he falls asleep after House episodes…
