The Lions have been hit by two key injury withdrawals ahead of the Sharks clash with Elton Jantjes and Patric Cilliers out of the game.

GLRU reports that talismanic star flyhalf Elton Jantjes (foot) and Sharks signed prop Patric Cilliers (stomach bug) have withdrawn from the side to face the Sharks tomorrow in Durban.

Caylib Oosthuizen (prop) and Alwyn Hollenbach (inside center) have moved into the starting lineup with Butch James shifting to the flyhalf berth. Ruan Dreyer and Andries Coetzee have been drafted into the XXII.

From an injury perspective the Lions are looking depleted already with the losses of Wikus Van Heerden, Michael Rhodes, Lionel Mapoe, JC Janse Van Rensburg, Bandise Maku, CJ Van Der Linde also affecting the side.

The side has said that their motto is “No excuses and no explanations” and have said they are ready for the challenge the Sharks bring.

Let’s hold thumbs!

Ruan Dreyer is a very promising flyhalf / inside center. I hope he gets a run.

But that’s about all that is positive that one can oput on the game…

    Durbanites must be grinning…

Watch the rogue journo’s jumping onto this (especially if they lose by plenty) spelling doom and gloom for the Lions…
