Ashley Johnson has signed with UK-based club London Wasps.
In a statement on their website, Wasps confirmed the signing of Johnson alongside 3 other signings being that of Stephen Jones, Phil Swainston and Will Taylor.
Johnson confirmed on Twitter that the deal is for 2 years.
The signings of the players are interesting considering reports on Sportal.co.nz that the club is in financial strife. Such is the nature of their trouble it has been reported that they only have enough finances to stay afloat for one month or face going into administration.
According to the report a deal Wasps was banking on fell through recently which has put them in a really difficult position.
As we learn more on this issue we will let you know.

Johnson has his good attributes… excellent in a loose game playing Cheetah’s style running rugby… better than floors (who is just far too small for anything above CC rugby)…
He’d be devastating if he could protect his own ball better, had even a semblance of a ground game (perfectly built for it), and tackled better… well and laid off the pies for a few years!
But the fact remains there is only one reason he has a Bok cap (same as Floors)!
I predict he’ll do well overseas as an impact player…
