SA Rugby have released a statement saying that a major announcement on key appointments to SA Rugby will be made on Sunday.
The announcement is set to include Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer’s assistants.
It appears that SA Rugby and the Blue Bulls Company have reached an agreement regarding the release of Bulls management members to SA Rugby.
Brenden Nel reported a couple of weeks back that a source close to the Bulls has confirmed that Loubscher is on a “wish list” handed to Roux to discuss with Bulls CEO Barend van Graan.
The wish list also includes Bulls forwards coach Johan van Graan and conditioning coach Basil Carzils.
Other names to have been linked to a Springbok management position is Stormers defence guru, Jacques Nienaber, and former WP Rugby Director of Rugby, Rassie Erasmus.

Only on Sunday?
Is this to leave it open to Rapport
to tell us who they are before they
are announced?

Well the release puts a number on this. It says they will negotiate with 4 Bulls coaches so include defence coach McFarland in there too.

Bulls should be asking for far more than they are… that’s quite the rebuild losing 4 coaches and your director of rugby at once!
Fact remains they might be announced this Sunday… but just when are they going to be able to work with the Boks… the weekend before the tests?

That is the reality. They will get the core of their 22 together after one helluva derby weekend in Super Rugby.
Only thing we can hope for is that the Poms are underdone coming into the first test.

Surely all those assistants are not so
uniquely qualified that all of them MUST
be contracted – and in the prosess stripping
the Bulls bare?

Does not make a lot of sense other than Heyneke insisting on the guys he wants.

How can they be… they’ll have been in a training camp and had a fairly good 5 nations campaign with some solid tests together…
I see no other option than HM to bring in some OS Boks if he wants to win the series…

Match fitness – and yes I am stretching here.
Heyneke is on a hiding to nothing. A home series loss to the Poms will be disastrous for him in his first year.

Which do we need?
BJ Botha?

I don’t agree. We’ll snot the Poms.

Well there goes the successfull Bulls. Shyte you can build all you want, but to lose the 4 people that youve built your succes around in one season, is disastrous. Add to that a massive player drain, and I see some tough years ahead for us Bulls.
Count Heynecke, Mcfarland, Basil and Johan van Graan, and you count 4 of the best in the country. You cannot replace those people. Yeah this year we’ll be fine, but suddenly its not only bakkies, victor, fourie etc, but really the end of an era. Hopefully frans, pieter and co are able to replace the best. This is disastrous to Bulls rugby, but very good for bokrugby.
Hmmm, succussfull Bulls and poor boks, or poor Bulls and successfull boks? Who do I choose, sorry but I choose the bulls, good luck to heynecke, but the braindrain sucks

sal oorleef. Hul stelsels is goed.

You are more brave than what I am. I checked the refs for these matches. I am not comfortable.

Gurthro Steenkamp, Frans Steyn, Jacque Fourie, Ruan Pienaar for starters… add the current Bok’s in RSA and they fit in nicely can be ready and conditioned to rumble and slot in straight away…
Fok knows about TH option on the bench though…

Tina is reportedly coming back to whoever
has enough money. We could miss Jaque –
what does his contract say?
The rest we can do without.

With Beast out there is no POC prop or forward in the starting 15 (would you like to see Johnson or Devan face the Poms)… Guthro it must be…
JDV will start (if he’s not being over-played into injury by then)… I’d rather not see De Jongh there having to deal with Tuialagi and any of their other monsters they have in the backs and I’m not sold with JPP playing at 13 at S15 level let alone test rugby… Jacque it must be…
Scrum-half outside of Hougaard, who will start, there are not that many… Duvenage is doing a great job again (but not test quality imo)… leaves only really Vermaak (who I doubt would be brought in) and Sarel who I doubt will come back from the Tahs… so who better to have than an in form Ruan Pienaar who has almost single-handedly been winning games for his club and Frans Steyn on the bench with a 5/2 split to deal with the massive forwards?
And all of the above can be working with HM as they’re not playing S15…
