Cape Town – The Springboks have been dealt a heavy blow ahead of their three-Test series against England with the news that Stormers lock Andries Bekker has been ruled out of action for five weeks.
Bekker was excluded from the Stormers team to face the Bulls in their crucial Vodacom Super Rugby derby at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday with a lower back strain.
Bekker will also miss the Tests against England which start on June 9 in Durban.

And so it starts… it was clear he (and Etsabeth have been playing with injuries)… it’s becoming an AC trade-mark playing his team into the ground and then reacting after injuries hit!
Here’s hoping Victor is already in the gym!!!

JT… you got the odds on the first test?

Bet on the Boks – NOW!
Ja, it was clear that Parkbank was
struggling. I was honestly expecting this.
Lower back every time -
skeleton problems?
Screwing in the wrong places?
May 30th, 2012 at 3:07 pm
Geez, bekker is crocked more often than playing.
May 30th, 2012 at 5:09 pm
And the really crazy part is that AC admits that Bekker has been struggling with an injury from the Crusaders game already! But, still he played him!
That is six games ago! And how much has he played since picking up the injury………
AC is clearly a coach looking after only himself and not interested in the well being of his players. A back injury isn’t a joke!

Kolisi’s recovery was rather quick too… JP is probably playing with crutches…
May 30th, 2012 at 7:43 pm
off course their gameplan has nothing to do with all the injuries right?
May 30th, 2012 at 9:08 pm
Jake White also had a habit of playing players into the ground and then whining because the provinces played them into the ground… pot, kettle kind of thing…

I also think you’ll have to explain a little better.
There seem to be a pattern, but what is the connection? The way they tackle? The number of tackles? Or just the general defensive game-plan. Were most of these players injured whilst tackling or being tackled?

Reply to Timeo @ 9:40 pm:
I am with shields here – the game plan is part of it. The amount of tackles these guys make and the intensity is great but you ned better rotation of players IMO – and when a player has a niggle you REST him to come back fresh!
AC is being stupid IMO – He is playing his guys into the ground and he will soon have no one left with experience because he is not rotating his squad to give them a run in until he is forced to do it.
Now with the bokke test he can rest his non-springboks but these guys need a rest as well so expect to lose more until the end of the S15. Stormers to fall at the last few hurdles again!
Bulls/Sharks have a better chance of winning the comp than the Stormers IMO.

Burnt out team by the looks of it.
Canadian not up to scratch.
Bekker out.

@Methos – your boet will most probably start against the bokke in a few weeks – he must be ecstatic! Let us know what he is going through!

Coetsee is a idiot. Every dog and his monkey knew he was playing an injured player.
Asshole, still cant believe that Nick does not have a job.

If it was due to the amount of tackles one would have expected more Stormer names on these lists.

Player management and game-plan are two completely different issues.

Hy vat bitter man balle by sy direkte teenstander af!

Korrek. Selfs De Kock Steenkamp
was beter as hy.
Ek weet net nie of ons vorentoe
baie van Parkbank gaan hoor nie.
Ek het in idee daar is aangebore
skeletprobleme, hy raak net te
veel beseer.

I propose that from now on when we refer to Bekker, instead of parkbank we call him Brokeback, or maybe Brokebank

Had a wee chat. Quietly optimistic he is, although I told him they are dead in the water…
Looking forward to it. Always good to go back and prove a point. Here’s to hoping.

You think you two can come and visit IBK in the future? Ski/hiking/biking holiday and maybe you guys can do a coaching session
I might be able to pull a few strings and get cheap/free boarding.

Will speak to him about it in July. He’s coming to visit in July I think. I started a new job recently as well on top of the rugby, but will def try.

Wow must be exciting and the same time bitter-sweet for you (and him perhaps)… hope he has a blinder (not everyone else though)…
They must rate their chances though… 5 (well 6) games together against a new Bok side that won’t have played together once…

My frans is darem nou al so dat ek kan terug kom in die IT bedryf. Ek werk nou as ‘n middle manager in ‘n groot vervoer company se IT departement.
So dis beter dat ek nou weer in die IT inkom. Die klub het gehlp om my kop hier in te kry en nou hang dit van my af of hulle my gaan hou etc. So ek werk my dinges af. 8 tot 8 elke dag.

Raak nou regte madam.
Raak baie cute.
Cheers
