“Dit sal ’n nuwe ervaring vir my wees.

He has a good point. If your home country does not value your ability go to greener pastures. There are many South Africans in teams across the world.
Good Luck, I hope you dont get the same booing as poor and treatment as freckles.

Agreed… the same applies to business…
Personally since the days of Tiaan Strauss I’ve always been somewhat proud of Japies that can make national sides of other countries…
Going to be bitter-sweet for Methos when his boet runs on to the field…
No doubt he’ll continue his form… I just hope HM and co know he is the charge-down king at the moment…

I know who I’d be backing in this pic to come out trumps!

This should be the biggest eyeopener for SA:
“Ek was maar ’n outjie wat in die verkeerde skole was en nooit vir die groot rugbyskole in Suid-Afrika gespeel het nie.
We let so many talented players slip due to this – and then you have commentators brag about this or that school having their 25th captain etc. It is not a bragging issue it is a disgrace that guys from other school don’t get a look at!

Mouritz the only Japie forward that tackles that low and runs head-down rather than up-right…
Jeez… someone spent some serious time on that youtube clip… I reckon he has a stalker…
See Methos… you too could have stalkers like that if you had the same hair-style as your boet!

In all fairness – yes I should. But being a rugby player myself with 3 trainings a week + gym + match + a full time job now, learning a new lanuage and getting better at it and being a dad it is kind of hard to find the time…
When you get time off you just want to sit on your arse and have a beer.

Bryce – in school I had the long hair and he shaved his. Now he has the hair and I have to shave my head 3 times a week otherwise the gray and bald spots are too obvious. Life is not fair.
But very proud of what he has achieved. When he left SA he didn’t have time to gym etc. But he was always a good player. He made the same tackles and played for NTK – now NNK 1′st team when he was still U21 etc. But never got the look in by WP or anyone else. I took a video of him to Gerrie Swart – the agent of Francois Steyn and he tried at Griquas – don’t know how hard. In the video there is a tackle of him on Egon Seconds where he kinocks him out cold – 100% legal and all. Him and Andries Bekker were the locks for NTK at that stage.
Then when he packed it in and went to England he met his wife and got really serious about going to gym – he went twice a day and bulked up about 8 kilos. When they came to visit us in our village England he didn’t want to have a beer before he had a gym session and we spent 2 hours on the field kicking and chasing the ball and trying to get around each other in the 5m line. For the record – the last “dryfings”(gain ground in english I think), session that we had I won 3-0
I always believed that he could play big rugby but to get into the system when you hail from Calvinia is kind of hard. Hats of to the bugger and here to hoping that he has an excelent game on Sat but that the boks win it in anycase
Cheers

with JT here. These poncy commentators always on about ‘a bishops boy’ and a ‘SACS’ boy pisses me off. Those schools produce more coke-snorting fuckups than anything else. Their rugby traditions are blown up affairs yet the level of their play is very rarely what you find at big Jarpie schools in the platteland.
Jake White also a key culprit with his reliance on ‘pedigree’ which according to him you get at places like Jeppe.
In the words of Gordon Ramsey: “fuck me”
You go Mouritz!

Such humble beginnings – just shows you, even boerseuns from Calvinia can make it big. Even I will be watching tomorrow’s test hoping Mouritz has a blinder (but still lose)!
