Another young star is set to leave Western Province and the Stormers, with lock Quinn Roux reportedly heading to Ireland.
Die Burger was reliably informed that the 21-year-old Roux will join Leinster at the conclusion of the Super Rugby tournament.
Roux was a star for Western Province is this year’s Vodacom Cup, helping them win their maiden title with a final win over Griquas in Kimberley.
Roux was schooled at Affies in Pretoria but came through the WP junior structures from Under-19 level. He was initially touted by many as a better prospect than now Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth when the duo emerged as rising lock stars in the Cape.
Roux made his Super Rugby debut for the Stormers earlier this month against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld He was impressive in his 29 minutes on the field as the Stormers upset their arch-rivals 19-14.

So how does this happen? Is he better than Eben?

He’s a totally different player… much like Willemse for the Lions and Peter Steph-Du Toit for the Sharks… big heavy boys…
Outside of Bekker, Eben, Steenkamp he was competing directly with Elstadt who has been exceptional in the last two campaigns…
Methinks a b it more rotation and game-time from the coach that doesn’t rotate until broken might have swayed things slightly…
But then is it really a great surprise young sportsmen are deciding to follow their qualified young peers in other industries out of RSA for what-ever the reason money, job security or simply to experience another country?
Trick is how to get them back…

AC has since said it’s merely for a year until next S15 2013… says it’s a great experience to ply his trade and get game-time with the best team in Europe whilst he isn’t getting much here…
