Brumbies coach Jake White may use a trip home as an opportunity to recruit a South African player to add to his Super Rugby squad.
According to the Canberra Times website, White won many plaudits for fashioning a competitive side out of largely unheralded players, some of whom went on to play for Australia in June.
With virtually all of his squad re-signed for next season, White is looking to possibly supplement home talent with a South African recruit.
The Brumbies led the Australian Conference for virtually the entire Super Rugby season, before losing to the lowly Blues in the final round, resulting in t hem finishing second behind the Reds, and missing out on the playoffs.
”I think with Australia going into the World Cup in three years’ time, a development player who I feel could be good enough to play for the Wallabies in three years’ time, would be a great signing for us,” White said.

Too free running a player for Jake.
He’ll probably be more likely be looking for a 4/5/7/8 or a prop.

Franco VD Merwe probably.
Maybe a bit too old although he needs a grunty type so maybe one of those new U19 locks at the Lions Ruan Venter.

I think you’re spot-on… loads of excellent young backs in Australia… a young lock will be first on the list…

Hey I said it first!!!
Willemse and Venter from the Lions will be easiest to contract from the poverty stricken Lions.
Dude you need to go to EFC Africa and download the main fight from Friday night!
You see JP Joubert come back in the second right and then you can see for sure what grit, determination and “gees” can get you when you’re facing a technically superior opponent!
Even afterwards JP said on Twitter that hearing his fans chant his name is what made him not throw in the towel!
Bigger comeback that Karpov v Kasparov I
