Bismarck du Plessis will miss the start of the Super Rugby tournament which kicks off in mid-February.
The Beeld newspaper reported that the Springbok hookers rehabilitation has not gone as expected and that he is set to miss the start of the season. Bismarck has not been able to train with the rest of the squad yet.
“Bismarck will be ready to play Super Rugby but not in the initial stages of the competition,” commercial manager Rudolph Straeuli confirmed.
Good news for the Sharks however is that Frans Steyn who also missed the latter part of 2012 through injury will be ready when the Sharks tackle the Cheetahs in their first game.
