Schools Top 20

Paarl Gim win over Paarl Boys last week kept them as the top schools team in the country. Further down we had some movement however.

Of the Top 20 schools last week, 19 were in action again this week, and it produced some headaches.

The headaches were at the top of the second half of the Top 20. The ones that were 10, 11 and 12 all lost, HTS Middelburg (10) and Die Brandwag (12) heavily so, This meant that schools had to be demoted though the candidates for promotion may not have done all that well.

In the end the school teams promoted are Outeniqua, Waterkloof, Nelspruit, Monument even though they lost, Marlow, Grey PE, and Oakdale while Nico Malan come back into the pressure group just below the Top 20.

Glad to see my alma mater at 18. Together with Marlow, two really small-town teams well!

Paul Roos at 20 is a surprise, they draw against Paarl Boys a few weeks ago,

They have a centre Du Plessis that is brilliant, played for WP Craven Week as well
