Heyneke Meyer this morning announced his squad to tour Argentina for the second Rugby Championship match this Saturday. The squad sees only two changes with Griqua prop Lourens Adriaanse replacing Trevor Nyakane and Piet Van Zyl replacing Fourie Du Preez.
Rugby365 reports that Nyakana has been dropped due to his ‘continued infringements of team protocol’. Fourie Du Preez as agreed will not be available for selection for overseas games.
Fatties: Lourens Adriaanse, Willem Alberts, Marcell Coetzee, Bismarck du Plessis, Jannie du Plessis, Eben Etzebeth, Siya Kolisi, Juandré Kruger, Francois Louw, Tendai Mtawarira, Coenie Oosthuizen, Gurthrö Steenkamp, Adriaan Strauss, Flip van der Merwe, Duane Vermeulen.
Softies: Bjorn Basson, Jean de Villiers (captain), JJ Engelbrecht, Bryan Habana, Patrick Lambie, Willie le Roux (birthdayboy), Ruan Pienaar, Jan Serfontein, Morné Steyn, Piet van Zyl, Jano Vermaak.
This team is weakened considerably without Fourie ‘you don’t know what you got till its gone’ Du Preez. Adriaanse is a strong replacement for Nyakane. however the latter’s omission means the touring squad has only 3 players of color – which should illicit some response from those public representatives who were chewing the fat in the fancy seats on Saturday.
