Although Newlands was wet and cold we still saw both Western Province and Griquas trying to give the ball air, which is the way most teams see themselves getting into the play-offs.
The Sharks, Lions and WP are sitting in the best position for making the play-offs but all three of them will have to still fight for the home semi-finals.
Western Province 19 Griquas 13
The weather was always going to dictate the way that the teams would have plan for this game and the score reflects it as well. Western Province will kick themselves as the stats of the game will show that they should have pulled away from Griquas in the first half. Handling mistakes from both teams did made the team a stop start affair.
Both teams seems to have feed from the others mistakes in the second half which took away the attacking aspect of their game somewhat.
Griquas will be very disappointed for not taking the game away from Western Province at the end of the game.

Sharks 50 Cheetahs 26
One of the better performances I saw from the Sharks fro a long time. With the exciting young Fred Zeilinga putting his back-line into space with just brilliant play, every team will look very hard at the Sharks as the team to beat. The Sharks played total rugby for eighty minutes and the scoreboard shows the result of just that.
The Cheetahs will be very worried in the way the Sharks were able to penetrate through their defense with ease. Hard work lies ahead for them with Western Province visiting them next week in Bloemfontein.

Golden Lions 35 Blue Bulls 26
The Lions start the game like a house on fire and it looked that they would run away from the Bulls again in this match. The Bulls let themselves down again with two yellow cards in the first half, but were lucky that the Lions did not punish them more during the twenty minutes they played against 14 men.
The Lions look dangerous when they got ball in hand and it did not matter were on the field they were. It always felt during the game that they can score from anywhere in the field and can feel disappointing in the points they left on the field due to handling errors. We have some future stars in this Lions team with Marnitz Boshoff, Anthony Volmink and Andries Coetzee.
The Bulls did pull back with some individual brilliance from Basson and Francois Venter who tried all game long. The Bulls is still in it as thy are only 5 points behind the Cheetahs lying fourth on the log, but they will have to win their remaining games.
Golden Lions 35 (13): Tries: Andries Coetzee, Jaco Kriel, Ruan Dreyer, Jacques van Rooyen, Marnitz Boshoff.

Penalties: Elton Jantjies, Boshoff.
Blue Bulls 26 (7): Tries: Rudy Paige, Bjorn Basson (2), Francois Venter.
