McCaw’s recall in place of Sam Cane at openside flanker was one of two changes for the world champion All Blacks, who are on the brink of a 12th southern hemisphere title in 18 seasons.
While McCaw is over the knee injury that ruled him out of the most recent wins over the Springboks and Argentina, Owen Franks has not recovered from a groin injury and was replaced at tighthead prop in Wednesday’s team by Charlie Faumuina. Franks’ brother, Ben, moved up to the bench.
New Zealand needs only a losing bonus point on Saturday to clinch the title.
Kick-off for Saturday’s crucial encounter is at 17:05.
