At a launch function held in Cape Town on Tuesday, it was announced that Land Rover will be the official associate and exclusive vehicle partner of the union for the next three years.

In terms of the agreement, the Land Rover brand will be represented on the kit of the Stormers and Western Province in Super Rugby, the Currie Cup and the Vodacom Cup tournaments, respectively.

The local sponsorship complements Land Rover’s global association with the sport of rugby, and in addition to the distinctive branding, a fleet of vehicles will be supplied to Western Province athletes and management.

Kevin Flynn, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and sub-Sahara Africa (JLR SA & SSA), said:

“Today’s announcement marks a significant development in the partnership between Land Rover and rugby.

“The brand is proud of its latest partnership at this level of the sport and it is fitting that the world’s finest all-terrain vehicles – sold in over 160 markets worldwide – should support Western Province Rugby. It also dovetails perfectly with the build-up to Land Rover’s partnership with the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

“There’s nothing tougher or more capable than a Land Rover and we believe this partnership will build on and reinforce that fact,” explained Flynn.

“Through this association we will drive the message home, and reap the benefits not only for our dealers in the Western Cape, but across the country.”

A number of senior Stormers and WP athletes were present at the announcement, as well as top management and executives.

WPRFU President Thelo Wakefield commented: “We are delighted to welcome Land Rover to the family.

“This long-term partnership with one of the world’s most recognisable brands further enhances the enormous prestige and attraction of WP Rugby, both locally and nationally. Land Rover is a true champion of rugby from community to elite level and we look forward to working closely with the company in the future.”7ba7a15dced045a79fb8ea2ffaaf4f98

The Indians are taking over. First through the clever take over of Jaguar and Land Rover and now by sponsoring the Stormers, Tata is now represented everywhere.

Perfect partner for the Stormers – both breakdown specialists.

At least with every new land rover bought, you get a dog as present, so that you dont have to walk home on your own after it has broken down.

    A few we always remember:

About 90% of all Land Rovers are still somewhere on the road, all the cruiser have reach home.

Q: Why doesn’t Land Rover build computers?
A: They couldn’t figure out how to make them leak oil

All Land Rovers are like women – They moan on long journey’s, embarrass you in front of friends and you spend more money than you ever expected once you’ve commit yourself to one.

Landrovers have the best fuel consumption of all 4×4′s.
That’s because they are always being towed by something else

Why do LR’s always drive in convoy?
The are playing ‘Who’s the weakest Link’

Q: What goes on pages 4-5 of the Landy’s user’s manual?
A: The train & bus schedule.

Q: What is the sport-version of a Landy?
A: The driver wears Nike shoes.

Q: What do you call a Landy with brakes?
    A: Customized.

    Q. Why do the latest models have rear window demisters.
    A. To keep the hands warm when pushing.

In all seriousness though, after the anglo-war, the english soldiers on the ship shouted they’ll get us Boers back, 3 years later Land Rover arrived

Think Land rover should maybe sponsor Bafana. Looking at the minister’s speech, they are both equally unreliable.

Regtig dawie? Are you crasy? A Jeep? You know when 90% of jeep owners tell you they are at a 4×4 course, the vechile is actually on a ramp somewhere being fixed.
