The Cell C Sharks team has been announced for Saturday’s match against the English club Saracens.

Director of Rugby, Jake White believe this would be the best preparations for their first clash with the Bulls, ”What I enjoy about this game is that it mimics a little bit of what we can expect from the Bulls. “Saracens play a little bit like the Bulls, they have a big pack of forwards, their set-piece is strong and they kick a lot. It gives me and the coaching staff an opportunity to see the things we want to do against the Bulls and to have an idea of whether or not we can play against the Bulls in a certain way.”

Captain du Plessis do respect the English side, “Saracens have been the form side in the English Premiership for the last few years. They are midway through their season so it’s going to be tough for us, but we are looking forward to it. We want to test some new combinations and tick a few boxes,” he said

I look for Laurens Adriaanse to go downhill rapidly.
Continuing the meme that Sharks is a Cheetah graveyard.

Hope I can see this game with the full knowledge that its just a pre-season training run. I want to see them play on the turf!

    My predicted Man-of-Match….

    Schalk Brits !

Real experimental backline for the most part…

Interesting to see Tyler Fisher at 15… he has the talent, speed and size to play anywhere in the backline… but for mine he’s a wing or 13…

Sarries will attack that 9/10 and 10/12 channel with the pint sized Swiel there… but he can certainly make things happen on attack… but this is being played in the NH winter…

Only Jake’s tactical nouse will keep them in this game… otherwise I’m expecting a bit of a hiding…

    Hoessit, Tjops.

Watched the 2nd half, not too much to write home about but the weather sure didn’t help. Methos, jou broer het die willepis uit Deysel getékkel – daai was nou lekker om te kyk!!

Not a wasted effort – good that the Tjarks had a hard (proper) game and gave lots of new guys a run. In all fairness Sarries is mid-season and the Sharks have many newcomers and new combos to test out. They seemed to gel much better towards the end, but seems like the first half all they did was tackle. Worrisome factor is that they got the sh!t scrummed out of them when Bismarck & the beast went off.
