The Vodacom Bulls are set to confirm two big-namesignings and lose one top player, all in the same week according to SupperSport website.

It all looks if the stars will align for the Blue Bulls to get the services of Toyota Cheetahs duo Trevor Nyakane and Lappies Labuschagne. Sources close to the Bulls has confirmed that the duo have already signed and an announcement should be expected before the end of the week.

Nyakane was also in talks with the Stormers who made a bid to get his service down to the Cape.

In another development it seems that Cheetahs captain Adriaan Strauss will make a u-turn on this plans to join the Bulls, after some business men got involved to keep Strauss in Bloemfontein.

With Bongi Mbonambi leaving to the Stormers the Bulls may have overplayed their hand a bit. Mbonambi has already informed the Bulls he will not renew his contract after he was forced to play second fiddle to Callie Visagie, despite the fact that the youngster made more of an impact on the field than Visagie, he was still continually ignored.

With the idea of Strauss’s arrival, it is obvious that Mbonambi would have been behind Visagie, Strauss and Maku, so a move to the Cape will be better as he would just have to compete with Scarra Ntubeni at the Stormers for a starting spot.

Nyakane will have to play for his spot at the Bulls were they already have Dean, Gryling, Morne Mellet and Marchel van der Merwe. Labuschagne will compete with Jacques du Plessis, Arno Botha and Deon Steggmann depending where he will be used.

It all seems that Bandise Maku, who previously asked to be released from the Bulls, has decided to stay at the union, which do give the Bulls a backup if Strauss do not arrive

One should never get into a situation were you overplay your hand with the players that are on your books. One can easily loose more than what you gain….
