It seems like the Springboks is not the only once suffering under injuries.
It was reported in the New Zeeland newspapers that it is highly unlikely that Nonu and Kaino will be ready for the return match this Saturday at Eden Park in New Zeeland against the Wallabies.
Nonu (shoulder) and Kaino ( elbow) had scans in the week, and although the results were not made public, the assistant coach Ian Foster said the pair is not likely to feature in the team for Saturday.
He told the New Zeeland Herald, “”They didn’t do any training today,” he said. “We put them in cotton wool, really. We’ll know more tomorrow but the signs are looking that they won’t be playing on Saturday.”
The midfield pair will consist of either Ryan Crotty or Malakai Fekitoa and returning Conrad Smith. Everybody expect that Liam Messam will have the inside line to get Kaino’s No6 jersey in front of Steven Luatua.
Foster went on and say that either Crotty or Fekitoa is ready to pair with the upbeat Smith following the birth of his son.
“He’s a very happy man. It’s obviously been a special time for him. Whilst he hated leaving his team it was the right thing to do and it’s been fantastic that he was with Lee-Ann for the birth. He’s come back and he’s jumping out of his skin. He was going through and learning everything today so he’ll be ready to go.”
Foster is confident that the changes will not change the way they will play on Saturday.
