South Africa and Sharks flanker Marcell Coetzee will take up a playing stint in Japan after the Rugby World Cup, signing a deal with the Honda Heat.
The hard-working openside, who scored five tries for the Sharks this term, will switch from November 1 until January 31 before going back to Super Rugby. A move to the Stormers has been mooted, but remains in the realms of speculation.
Coetzee joins several South Africans in moving to Japan in the coming months as Bulls outside centre JJ Engelbrecht and Lions lock Andries Ferreira were also confirmed to be joining Shokki Shuttles for those three months.
They will also then return to their Super Rugby franchises ahead of 2016.
