Last years finalist the Emirates Lions squad for the upcoming Super Rugby tournament was named by coach Ackermann on Thursday.
He has named a 40-man strong squad which will try and take go one step further and win the competition. The side will once again be captained by Springbok Warren Whiteley and Akermann has named no less than nine Springboks in his sqaud.
The other Springboks in the Lions squad is:
Wing Ruan Combrinck, centres Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Lionel Mapoe, flyhalf Elton Jantjies, scrumhalf Faf de Klerk, flank Jaco Kriel, lock Franco Mostert and hooker Malcolm Marx.
Blitzbok Kwagga Smith has also been included and will form part of a now experienced Lions sqaud.
