Chiefs too good for 14-man Blues

The Chiefs was too good for the fourteen man Blues on Friday when they beat them 41-26.

It was a crazy tempo in the game with the Chiefs and the Blues giving the ball air as we expected in a New Zealand derby.

The Chiefs looked from the start to have a more dominated scrum and put huge pressure on the Blues set pieces and steel some lineouts as well.

It was the Blues that scored first with a penalty after some huge pressure put onto the Chiefs but the Chiefs scored the first try with the perfect lineout drive and Messam the man getting the try.

That gave the Chiefs a 5-3 lead but it was quickly turned around with two quick penalties from the Blues to take the lead to 9-5.

With some slick passing and great running the Chiefs score their second try which was something special. This gave them a lead of 12-9 and they quickly knocked over another penalty to take the lead to 15-9.

The Blues have two more changes to kick over some penalties but West missed one against the uprights and on to the right.

With halftime hooter sounding the Chiefs had another break and almost scored a try but a small knock prevents the try being awarded.

The referee however went on to the TMO to check on a late high hit from Blues player Steven Luatua. He got a red card for his trouble and the Chiefs went for the lineout from the penalty.

They execute again a great drive from line and scored their third try to extend the lead at halftime to 22-9.

The Chiefs started well in the second half with claiming a try but was overruled by TMO as a forward pass. From the Blues scrum the Chiefs turned the ball over and score a try from the scrum.

This gave them a 29-9 lead after just 42 minutes and it was a long way back for the Blues from here on end.

The Chiefs in full control scored another great try through Lowe which gave them a lead of 36-9 after 51 minutes and a huge score was on the cards here.

The Chiefs did not let up and scored another from their own half after a turnover to get their score to 41-9 after 58 min.

The Blues got one back from a lineout through a drive from the lineout and Patrick Tuipulotu the man at the end of it.

The Blues did not stop there as Charlie Faumuinathe gave us the step, the dummy and the try to make the score 41-21 after 66 min. They were not finished and they score another great try through Ranger.

This is how it ended and the Chiefs scoring full points for the win over the Blues.
