Blues get past Force


The Blues battled away to take the win over the Force on Saturday with a 24-15 win but did not get the bonus point.

The Blues played in the right parts of the field for the early moments of the match but the Force showed early on that they also wanted to play with ball in hand.

Ball security in the tackle was a problem for both teams in the early stages of the match.

The Force kept the pressure on the Blues in their own half and scored the first points through a penalty to take the lead 3-0 after 12 min.

The Blues did not manage any hands on the ball with the Force keeping the not just the ball but played in the Blues half. The Blues defense were able to hold the attack from the Force.

It was the Force that scored the first try with pressure that had to break the Blues defense and stretch their lead to 8-0 after 20 min.

The Bues did had their changes but there handling skills and forcing passes gave the Force turn-overs just when the Blues looks like scoring.

The Blues did hang on to the ball a bit better and played more in the Force twenty two which gave them opertunity to score but the Force defense stand up to it. The Force also got a yellow card which add to the pressure.

With the one man off the field the Force was under pressure as the Blues hammered away at them in heir half. A great lineout went into a great drive and their first try of the the match to reduce the Force lead to only 8-7.

It took the Blues not long to stretch the leggs and scored their secon try as they kept the ball in hand at the backs. They took the lead in the match just before half time 12-8 after 39 min.

The teams went into the break with the Blues leadig 12-8.

The two teams did not hold back at the start of the second half as they went from the one side of the field to the other playing well with ball in hand.

The middle part of the second half was not the greatest rugby these two teams have played with plenty of mistakes and handling errors.

It was the Blues that finally broke out and scored their third try and first points in the second half after 65 min.

The Blues scored again through a intercept and stretch their lead to 24-8 wit 7 min to go.

The Force came back at the end with a break out try with two minutes to go and reduce the Blues lead to 24-15 with 2 min to go.
