The Lions made it three out three on tour in Australia when they beat the Brumbies 13-6 in a scrappy game on Friday
A game that not many was to worried about for the Lions and expected them to win and get their second win on tour in Australia but you do not just arrive and beat the Brumbies at home.
It was the Brumbies with the better start to the game putting pressure on the Lions for the first 6 min keeping the Lions pinned down in their own twenty-two.
They did go over for the first try but it was disallowed by the TMO after he saw a knock-on in the leadup to the try.
The Brumbies kept the pressure on the Lions and stayed in their twenty-two calling on the Lions to defend for that first 14 minutes.
The two teams held each other well in the rest of the half which kept the score to 3-0 at the break.
The second half stayed much the same as the first with the Brumbies doing most of the attack and the Lions defending as well as they could.
Both teams had opportunities but mistakes in handling and not protecting the ball made these attempts come to nothing to show on the board.
The Lions where first to score in the second half through a penalty but neither teams could score a try yet.
It was the Lions with Kwagga Smith that broke the dam wall when he sprinted for a good 80 meters to score the first try of the match and the lead for the Lions 10-3 after 56 min.
That was the game breaker for the Lions as they kept each other close and only a late penalty gave the Lions the final score of 13-6.
