Our Number 1

Ox Nche

His full name is Retshegofaditswe ‘Tshego’ Nché and one of the most exciting young props in South Africa. He is a good in the scrum, great in the loose and can take a break like an inside centre.

Although Ox is still young and have allot to learn he can add value to the Springbok team even if only as an impact player.

Steven Kitshoff

The red head have given up his contract in France to come and play in South Africa and put his hand up for the Springboks. Also one of the mobile props these days but one of the stronger scrumming props in South Africa in the last few seasons.

Kitshoff came through the junior stages and have proof that he can become a great international prop.

Tendai Nihal ‘BeastMtawarira

He is the man currently with the jersey and a very strong scrumming prop but he is not one that are playing the world on fire. Beast will do what one expect from a prop, scrum, support in lineout and good in defence.

The younger props gives you more in the loose game but Beast will always give you a solid scrum.

Thomas du Toit

Thomas du Toit have been a revelation for the Sharks this year and one of the young props that have shown some great muscle in the scrums.

He is also very mobile and he has a solid defence and surely a player that can evolve in a great international prop.

Our number 3

Ruan Dreyer

Dreyer have been the unsung hero in the Lions scrum and does not always seemed to get the praises he deserve as a number 3 prop. Ruan is a strong in the scrums and do much of the dirty work.

His defence is not the best but surely not the worst and he is good in loose play

Frans Malherbe

Frans have been on the injury list for the past two season and have not played that much rugby. He is certainly coming back to his best and a player that can be used in starting lineup and as impact player.

Like most props these days he is also mobile and have a good defence. You know what you have with Frans and he will give you that each week.

Trevor Nyakane

One of the the guys that have shown allot of promise but have struggled to firstly find his right position and second with his form. These two go hand in hand and there needs to be decided what side Trevor needs to go down in.

He is a guy that can be devastating in the scrums and gives you some added value in loose play. His game has not improve since he joined the Bulls but with good coaching he can be a great prop for the Springboks.

Lourens Adriaanse

Adriaanse is a little pocket rocket as a prop and stronger than many think in the scrum. He is a great supporting prop and have some gas to burn as well.

He has been one of the better props the last two seasons.

To be honest, I don’t think a mix and match team under Allister will achieve anything. If you want the Boks to be competitive against the French you might as well pick the whole Lions team, including coaching staff, and they are likely to perform better than a Bok team.

Bismarck is the one ballie that I’d include in the Bok squad going into the RwC. Still a monster. Pick him with Marx or Akker, and Boks already looking better.

Bismarck is the one ballie I’d include in bok squad for french tests and going into the RwC. Still a monster and worldclass. Pick him with Marx or Akker, and Boks already looking a lot better.

I go with Bismarck and Marx. They are the only two hookers that for me can bring back the oemf in our pack as hookers and they add so much for the team as well

Form LH in RSA is Jacques van Rooyen from the Lions.. the guy is a freaking machine in every aspect of LH play from tight to loose… nobody is even close. As for listing Trevor at TH… even LH… that’s got to be a joke…

Boks have a tight 5 that is she rivavly the beslady in world rugby and yet this is where we are being beaten – it is completely beyond me how useless this coach is both in his selections and coaching.

Strauss, Adrianse and nyakane should be nowhere near a springbok side imo. They are good provincial players who work hard, but a Bok team should have a worldclass player in every position. mediocre is no good, that’s why you lose to Italy.

    @bryce_in_oz:

    I agree

A good start would be to select the Lions players as a whole unit

    then go

Which player at another franchise is actually better than the present Lions player…

Komaan Bunny, waar is jou hero Kebble anybody but vetgat Nyakane. Bad that Vincent Koch did not stay another year – just think how good he can be under some decent coaching like Ackers – maybe the 2 can eventually meet up here in UK.
