Sader still unbeaten after win over Chiefs

The Crusaders have kept their unbeaten record in tack after beating the Ciefs in Fiji on Friday with 31-24.

It was again a great performance from the Super Rugby leaders as they showed again their dominance in the competition this year. The Chiefs had their changes but at the end of the game two poor lineouts stop them from stealing a draw out of the match.

The Chiefs led at the break with 17-13 which was a closely contested match as we expected between these to top teams in the competition.

With the late withdraw of Matt Todd the Crusaders scored three tries through Bedwell-Curtis, Havili and Funnel while they added two conversions and four penalties through the boot of  Mo’unga.

The Chiefs replied with four tries of their own with Nnai-Williams, Lowe, Hames and Cruden going over the whitewash. Cruden boot let him down on the night and his general play was not as good as we used to and maybe the difference.

With this win the Crusaders took another four points on the log and 11 points clear of the second place New Zealand team.

The scorers:

For Chiefs:
Tries: Nanai-Williams, Lowe, Hames, Cruden
Cons: Cruden 2, McKenzie

For Crusaders:
Tries: Bedwell-Curtis, Havili, Funnell
Cons: Mo’unga 2
Pens: Mo’unga 4
