The Lions took another step closer to get that home final when they demolish the Sunwolves on Saturday 94-7.
With the Lions picking their strongest possible side for this game one expected them to dominate play and the scoreline and that is exactly what they did from the start.
They scored five tries in the first half all off them converted by Jantjies to give them a 35-0 lead at the break.
The Sunwolves had no answer in the first half for the power and speed the Lions came at them and the tackling was poor to say the least.
The Lions dominated all aspects of the game in that first half from the scrums, lineouts to the breakdowns and where good enough to keep the Sunwolves scoreless in that first forty minutes.
If one though the first half was bad for the Sunwolves then the second was a massacre as they Lions ended up with 14 tries with only 1 that was scored by the Sunwolves.
They were totally outplayed and not in the same class to be honest. Serious questions on the thinking of SANZAAR to keep a team like the Sunwolves but want to send the Southern Kings, Cheetahs and ether Force or Rebels pacing.
They are not even close to be competitive in this competition and it is a shame that SANZAAR allows a mediocre side like them stay in this premier competition.
The Lions are well on their way to put their name in the hat for the title this year and will have a bye next week to take the Sharks on in their last match of the season in two weeks.
