Worcester Warriors centre Ben Te’o should be back in training with his team-mates from next week after being granted an extended break.
The England star has had time off following his efforts for the British and Irish Lions in their drawn series with New Zealand last month.
His Warriors team-mates have been training intensely in pre-season camps dating back to June. A lot of the squad played in their 55-21 victory over Hartpury last Saturday.
Warriors head coach Carl Hogg believes Te’o’s extended break will benefit him in the latter stages of the season and prevent fatigue going into their Premiership season opener against the Newcastle Falcons away from home on September 1.
The 30-year-old may also make an appearance in Worcester’s final pre-season game against Irish giants Munster on August 24th.
“Ben will be coming back for that Munster week, so he will be fit and available to us,” Hogg told Worcester News.
“I am sure he will be refreshed after a good break from his tour down in New Zealand.”
Te’o scored four tries in 12 appearances for Warriors last season. He was also a star in England’s Six Nations success earlier this year.
