The Cell C Sharks got a hefty scare in Nelspruit as they had to come from behind to extend their lead on the top of the Currie Cup log.

They scored a match winning try with four minutes to go to seal a important away win against a very good Pumas side in Nelspruit. It is never easy to travel to Nelspruit and get a win and that is exactly what they did.

Willie Engelbrecht took a lovely break from the Pumas 10-meter lineout which ended in Isbell finishing for the perfect start for them.

An penalty a few minutes later extended the lead with Bosch slotting one over himself to get the Sharks on the board.

The Sharks got better as the half went one and with a great scrum they were able to send Nkosi over the line for their first try of the match.

The Sharks took the lead with their second try of the match after a great run from Ruan Botha before passing to Ward to go over which Bosch converted and gave the Sharks a 15-8 lead.

It started to go bear-shape after that for the Sharks as they lost Akker van der Merwe with a yellow card just before halftime.

Just before the halftime whistle the Sharks lost another man with a yellow card for a no-arms tackle.

The Pumas took advantage of the yellow cards and were first to score after halftime which made the scores level again at 15 all.

Soon after, the Pumas had their third try and it was a beautiful team move. Great work from Chris Cloete as he showed good pace to outstrip Ward and get the offload away to Hennie Skorbinski who had a clear run to the line.

From the five-metre lineout, the Sharks set up the driving maul and charged over as Wian Vosloo emerged from the melee with the ball. April added the extras to bring the deficit back to three. with 12 minutes to go.

But the Pumas were to be denied as the Sharks completed a thrilling comeback. April was the creator-in-chief as he broke the line before producing an excellent offload flick out of the back of hand to find the pacy Rhyno Smith who capped off a great try and a remarkable comeback.
