The Toyota Cheetahs are having a two week break from the PRO14 with the European Championship starting this weekend. With that in mind the Cheetahs Currie Cup side are fighting for survival in to defend their title and are facing the Golden Lions this weekend for a place in the play-offs.
With only the Sharks assured at this stage of a place in the playoffs it is all for one for this weekend.
The current log standings shows that any team from number 6 to number 2 on the log still have to fight for that last three playoff spots.
The Lions currently at number four on the log needs to win against the Cheetahs to secure a playoff spot with the Blue Bulls and Pumas just 3 and four points behind them.

The defending champions will start with the best available team when they play against the Xerox Golden Lion.
The Free State said their vision and objective was still to keep the Currie Cup in the Free State so will treat this game as a final.
Players will be assess this week and a final decision on the team will be taken from the full Cheetahs couching team which includes Franco Smith (Director of rugby), Rory Duncan, Corniel van Zyl, Daniel Human, Charl Strydom and Dave Williams.
