With the semifinals dusted this weekend Province and the Sharks have suffered injury blows.
They will meet this Saturday in Durban for the Currie Cup final and already EW Viljoen and S’bu Nkosi will not be playing.
Western Province coach John Dobson has confirmed that centre EW Viljoen will not take part in next week’s Currie Cup final against the Sharks. Viljoen started at outside centre against the Golden Lions, but he sustained a hamstring injury and was replaced by Werner Kok.
Dobson have a few option for the injured Viljoen with SP Marais and Craig Barry back from injuries. Province also has another casualty in flank Jaco Coetzee but replacement Sikhumbuzo Notshe was again a star for his side when he came on.
Sharks star S’bu Nkosi suffered a suspected dislocation of his elbow in Saturday’s semi-final against the Blue Bulls. It is uncertain how long Nkosi will be sidelined at the moment.
Nkosi was making good progress this year and it was expected that he would have been included in Coetzee Springbok squad for the November test series, but now looks like he will have to wait till next year to make his debut for the Springboks.
