Springbok prop Vincent Koch maybe on his way back and will be joining the Bulls after returning from England in June.

We have heard the rumors that Rassie Erasmus is on a mission to get certain overseas players back in SA so that they can form part of his plans to build the Springboks up again and to be competitive in 2019 World Cup.

Sources have confirm with All out Rugby that the 27-year old prop has agreed to cut his stint at Saracens short and move back home.

This is not just good news for the Springboks but also for the Bulls who has been struggling with quality props the past few years.

Erasmus is also set to speak to Vermeulen, JP Pietersen, Jan Serfontein, Frans Steyn, Bismarck du Plessis, Juan de Jogh, Willie le Roux and Faf de Klerk.

Erasmus was at Twickenham on Saturday, scouting England’s performance against Wales in preparation for a three-Test tour to South Africa by the Roses in June.

It is understood that Erasmus is eager to recall key overseas-based players who have not accrued the minimum of 30 Test caps required to be eligible for Springbok selection.

  1. This is the best news I have seen with regards to signings at the Bulls. Finally a quality tightness with northern hemisphere experience!

  2. Reckon with rassie at Boks and Mitchell at bulls – might be entering into golden period of SA rugby next 5 years or so.

Also, looks like Zuma out for Cyril. Reckon this could be start of SA moving onto great things.

  3. Koch is awesome talent – had a few “lessons learned” early in his international career, but far better than anybody we have in SA by a long run. His default choice should have been Stormers, but of course they are bankrupt due to you-know-who.
On Rassie: Would be interesting to know whether he flew business or economy (like the Boks were forced to do last year)? Anybody that can enlighten us?

Agree he is v good, but think wilco louw at WP might turn into one helluva a strong TH scrummaging beast. Combined with that beast and kitshoff at LH, Marx and Bismarck at hooker and that’s strongest frontrow Boks have had in a v long time. Team up Etsebeth with Ruan Botha and PsdT at lock and o can’t see any tight 5 coming close.

  5. Sacrilege all of those above (bar Serfontein) have been in exile for the last two years. Some might be coming to the end of their years though.

  6. The fact that Rassie is overseas looking at our players there already places him light years ahead of the clown he is replacing who aparently didn’t know rugby was played outside of Cape Town by white people.
