The Stormers got a good win over the Bulls at Newlands on Saturday when they outscored the Bulls 4 tries to 2.

The Stormers started the game as if they want to proof something after some ordinary performances the last couple of weeks.

They kept the ball away from the Bulls and their attacking speed caught the Bulls off guard. With the pressure building they got over the line but TMO judges the last pass forward.

With a brilliant first scrum from the Stormers they secured the ball and got it out to Willemse who scored the first try.

This gave the Stormers a 7-0 lead and in total control of the match. They kept the pressure on and got themselves back into the Bulls twenty-two. With the drive Louw got over for their second try and the lead of 12-0.

The Bulls started to get back into the game and their hands on the ball. With a brilliant line ran by Lood de Jager the Bulls got their first try.

The Stormers then got a yellow card for a late hit by Samuels for a late hit on Pollard. Pollard kicked a great kick in the wind to reduce the score to 12-10.

The Stormers held on nicely with one man in the bin and the teams went into the break with the Stormers leading 12-10.

The Bulls started well in the second half with another great try through Jenkins which gave them the lead 17-12 but this was short lived with the Stormers coming back with one of their own to take the lead again 19-17.

It was some brilliance from De Allende who send SP Marais over.

Willemse got another penalty over before Samuels was at the end of some brilliant play from the Stormers.

That gave the Stormers the game with a lead of 29-17.

The Bulls had their chances but some great defence from Stormers kept them out.

  1. Die Ellende was great. Bomskok de Toit in the end better than Lood (he can easily be flanker for Bokke). Frontrowers of Stormers did not impress.

  2. @Bekke: he was great at lock, he can’t be flanker for the Boks, we have plenty really good flankers. He had his first real good outing this year and it was at lock. Stormers and Boks would do good to keep him there. He seems a strong scrummager as well, so wasted at flank

  3. The Robby Fleck needed this BAD.
Do all of John Mitchell coached teams lack killer instinct or is this facet the result of adding in ZeeBulls evil/occult ethos to the equation?

  4. Why do the Bulls refuse to keep the scoreboard ticking? At least 12 points left on the field. We seriously need to remember the basics first and then go for the flash. Congrats Stormers, yoi
