Western Province made it difficult for themselves when they scrapped through this weekend against Boland in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge

The Sharks, Blue Bulls and Free State got good victories in their matches.

The Blue Bulls put a better second half together to beat the Valke 64-33.

The Blue Bulls forwards laid the foundation for the backs as both Beyers and Papier scored hat-tricks.

The second half the Blue Bulls was just unstoppable.

 

Western Province sneak a victory over the Boland with a late penalty by Josh Stander.

It was an exciting game which the WP won 23-21.

It was a good first half from the home side where they scored two tries to lead 15-0 at the break.

Don’t know what Boland drank at the break but they woke up in that second half. They scored early to bring them back into the game.

Boland led the home side with seven minutes to go after two more tries but it was the final penalty that gave the victory to WP.

 

SWD beat the Border Bulldogs in George with 38-20. They scored two tries in the first half to get a lead.

The second half was closer with both teams keeping the scoreboard ticking over.

Six tries were scored in the last 40 minutes, three from each team.

 

The Golden Lions had to work hard to get a 45-35 win over the Welwitschias.

They only had a 26-21 lead at the break. The Welwitschias did not give up.

The Lions at the end scored seven tries with the Namibian side five.

The Sharks was just too good for the Griffons in Durban as they beat them 32-22.

The score could have been much closer if the Griffons kicked all there conversions over

 

Free State totally dominated the Leopards in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

They eventually won the game 40-20 after leading 14-10 at the break.

The Free State scored six tries to take another win.

The Free State XV outplayed the Leopards at Shimla Park in Bloemfontein in the second half of their match, winning 40-20 after leading 14-10 at the break.

  1. This tournament is suppose to develop players and give exposure on TV…not allot have been shown on TV yet so do not see this exposing the players
