The Toyota Cheetahs just can not catch a break in this year PRO14 as they played to a 39-all draw on Friday.
It was a 78-point thriller not in Manila but in Bloemfontein as the two teams could not be separated
It was the Cheetahs that got out of the blocks first with Olivier crossing the line within two minutes which Schoeman converted to give the Cheetahs a 7-0 lead.
Ulster took not long to get on the board when Shanahan collected an offload to level things up which seems to start the trend throughout the match.
A penalty gave the Cheetahs the lead again but Ulster came back with another try with Shanahan going over for his second try of the match.
The Cheetahs responded with Small-Smith just before the break to give the host a 17-15 lead.
As throughout the match Ulster level things with a penalty from Burns but they lost the lead again after O’Conner was sin-binned and Dweba crossed over.
Burns slotted another penalty but one felt that the next score would be critical and it was the Cheetahs Du Toit who got over to give the Cheetahs a 29-20 lead.
This was unfortunately short lived when Ulster hit back Stewart going over. With nine minutes to play the Cheetahs conceded a penalty try but the Cheetahs hit back again with Maxwane giving them a 39-32 lead.
But the drama was not done when Henry Speight went over in the dying minutes of the match and Burns was successful with the conversion to level it all in Bloemfontein
