The game started with some pretty impressive play from the Blues who dominated the first fifteen minutes.

They were launching attack on attack with the Hurricanes scrambling to defend them off their line.

Eventually the Blues got rewarded when Nock was at the end of another break from a Blues scrum to get them in the lead.

The Hurricanes were starting to get more ball but there was no flow in their game yet. With the Blues again on attack the visitors turned over the ball to get it in the hands of Ben Lam who broke a few tackles and score their first try.

This even things up on the scoreboard but the Blues still had the better of the game on attack. There biggest problem for the home side was that they were unable to convert their opportunities.

The Hurricanes got into a period where they got into the Blues twenty two and after a few penalties it was Beauden Barrett with a brilliant pass to his brother Jordie to go over for their second try and the lead.

Opportunities went begging for both side which send them into the break with the visitors leading 14-7.

The second half start as the first with the Blues doing most of the play but again they failed to convert it into points.

The Hurricanes were brilliant on defence close to their line and Perenara showing his class when his team was under pressure in the scrums.

The Blues did get over the line next but somewhat controversial.

The referee asked the TMO to overturn his on field decision and after some reviews one could see the foot touching the line but he came back with no clear evidence to overturn the decision.

The Blues could not convert the try which left them two points shy of the Hurricanes.

Both teams tried to spread the ball wide and creating space but it was leaving them with nothing.

Beauden Barrett then intercept and ran 50 meters to take the game away from the Blues. Minutes later he had a penalty that took the score to 22-12 with minutes to go.

No more points were added with the Hurricanes taking the win and the points.
