There are six teams who have put themselves in a great position at this stage of the competition.

In the North we have Griquas, Pumas and the Golden Lions as the early front runners.

Some may argue that the defensive systems have not been great so far with 2035 points being scored in 32 matches which gives you an average of 63 points per match.

No less that 287 tries have been scored with only 51 penalties. This is good to see from an attacking point of view but not so much from a defensive side of things.

In the South Section DHL WP has already created a 5 point lead on the log with Free State and Boland following them.

It is still early in the competition but at this stage it looks like they may run away with thing in the south section.

A much improved EP Elephants side this year will face the rampant WP side this weekend at Newlands.

Another team who have shown huge improvement this season so far, Boland wil take on SWD this weekend.

The other top team so far in the south section, Free State will face the team from Zimbabwe in Cape Town this weekend and will be hoping to stay in touch with WP and Boland.

Here is your fixtures this weekend

Cell C Sharks XV v Border

SWD Eagles v Boland Cavaliers

In the north section everyone is looking forward to the top of the table clash between the Pumas and Griquas in Nelspruit.

The two finalist from last year have been on par again and looks like early contenders again.

With both on 20 log points we will have a clear leader after this weekend match.

The Leopards will take on the Welwitschias in Windhoek this weekend. This should be a closely contested match.

The Lions will also have a big one this weekend when they and the Blue Bulls will fight it out at the Bosman Stadium in Brakpan.

This will be live in SuperSport as well as the main match between the Valke and the Griffons.
