Great news for Chiefs fans today after it was announced that Warren Gatland will be the head coach of the Chiefs for next season.
The Chiefs will get one of the longest serving international coaches taking the reins over after he finish with Wales at the world cup.
Gatland have been in-charge of Wales since 2007 and his record speaks for itself not just with Wales but also with the British & Irish Lions.
Gatland said he was grateful for the chance to return home to New Zealand to coach a side he has a strong connection to.
“I am really excited about the opportunity to come back home. The opportunity to come back as head coach of the Gallagher Chiefs is something that I am really looking forward to. The Gallagher Chiefs are well known for the success they’ve had both on and off the field and the really loyal support they have from everyone within the Chiefs region.
Gatland will have a four-year deal with the Chiefs running until 2023 and he will be released to coach the British & Irish Lions that will tour South Africa in 2021.
