It is not the first of April, World Rugby has approved a new form of rugby which will be named ‘Rugby X’ according to The Times
This will be an indoor contest with only five-a-side which they hope will encourage fast attacking play.
The plan is to launch this format in London this October.
The plan is that matches will be 10 min with no halftime and will be played on artificial indoor pitches.
World Rugby is planning five events to take place across the world in 2020 and it looks like ITV are in talks for the broadcasting rights.
Former England and Fiji sevens coach Ben Ryan has been helping to develop the format.
